CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE |
|
|
The purpose of a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) is to represent a balance of interests among the many stakeholders in the project area. The CAC serves as an advisory group to the Project Team. CAC members are expected to serve as liaisons between PennDOT and the general public, relaying important engineering and environmental information to fellow citizens, while communicating important community values and concerns to the Project Team. Committee members meet periodically to discuss current issues relevant to public input for the project. A CAC is an option available to PennDOT for enhancing public participation by providing another opportunity for community interests to be involved in the Juniata River Bridge Replacement Project. It should be noted that the formation of a CAC in no way replaces the use of general public meetings. Rather, a CAC increases potential feedback from the public between the scheduled general public meetings. Non-member citizens may observe the meetings but may not participate. They will be invited to offer comments during a 20-minute public comment period at the end of the meeting. An individual's comments will be restricted to 5 minutes to allow others the opportunity to speak. Citizens are invited to review the list of CAC members and contact them to voice questions or concerns about the project. September 28, 2005 Meeting: January 10, 2006 Meeting: July 13, 2006 Meeting:
